Heat Levels in RomanceClass
Updated: February 17, 2020 — We’ve updated our heat levels to classify only the sex content in our books.
In romance, a story’s treatment of sex is often classified under different ‘heat levels.’ Here’s a graphic to illustrate the different levels we have adapted for the #romanceclass community.
We follow #RomanceClass guidelines requiring HEA/HFN for romance.
Our heat levels are about sex content and as follows:
- 0 – No sex on or off the page
- 1 – Off-page sex mentioned in story
- 2 – At least one “Closed door” sex scene
- 3 – At least one “Open door sex scene
- 4 – Explicit erotic romance with HEA/HFN*
*Heat level 4 description mentions HEA/HFN because the acts might include someone who isn’t part of the pairing.
